HOW TO TIME YOUR FOOD AND FUEL BEFORE TRAINING - Krazy Muscle Nutrition

What’s up guys today I’m coming at you with a good one! This is gonna be my “how to” for timing food and supplements around my training! This will work for training at any time as long as you can get that first meal in. Otherwise I recommend loading up on carbs the night before a morning workout and skipping the first step:)

So this is just my approach and assuming everything is on point and that my physique is tight. Meaning that if I’m super overweight or out of shape I may not do this to a T but still it will be pretty close.

Okay so first i like to make sure that if I’m gonna train with a meal in me, that meal is eaten at least 1.5-2 hours before training. This gives my body enough time to not just digest the food, but properly load it into my muscles. This is what I’m going to rely on for sustained energy and for that reason I’ll keep the meal clean with some easy to digest carbs like white rice or white potatoes.

Second, this is after I’ve eaten, I wait about 15 minute and then I start drinking water with a big pinch of salt. I wait a bit after eating because I don’t want the digestion to be slowed down. I want the food already being worked at so when I start drinking water the glycogen in the carbs goes to my muscle. Ill even do 20-30 pushups to help get everything moving.

Third I pick a solid preworkout. If Im using energy drinks then I make sure to get some decent pump pills or non stim powder to drink. Otherwise I use preworkouts with decent stim but lots of pump. 5g+ in citrulline and creatine. I also love glycerol based supplements as well. I’ll drink these 20 minutes before I train so that way they are fully hitting by the time i get in.

Fourth Ill pick up a can of coca cola and drink half of it with a sugary carby snack thats DRY. I repeat DRY. So i go with flaky pastries or rice crispy treats. I think they pull water out of the skin while bringing a good combination of sugars to the bloodstream that gives a better look than just sour patch kids. Not to mention with the coca cola and carbonation the pump will be insane and completely different than a normal pump.

Fifth and lastly I just make sure to keep drinking lots of water and I sit in the sauna for five to ten minutes. this lets me get my mind right and warms my body up before I hit the weights, this benefit you’ll have to experience to understand!

 

That’s pretty much it! This can be used for anyone looking to get the most out of their muscle building workouts! This may not be as good for functinal training or crossfit as it could overpump your muscles but as long as you stay hydrated you should be able to manage with any kind of training. The benefit will be perfectly timing the nutrients and minerals around when and how your body is going to use them. Give this a shot and let me know how it goes for you!
